When we read the email from LUSH, we straight away knew we wanted to be a part of the LUSH Naked Challenge. Unboxing the products got me super excited – the smell that lingered was so strong and I loved it! The products came in a packaging-free style.

So, I stopped using my usual products for 2 weeks and the results, well..let’s keep it for towards the end of the article. These are the products that we had:

  • Soak and Float Shampoo Bar
  • Jungle Hair Conditioner
  • Hair Doctor Hot Oil Treatment
  • Full of Grace
  • Gritty Politti
  • Argan Facial Oil
  • Fresh Farmacy
  • Knot-Wrap

I would usually pop into LUSH and check out their bath bombs as they not only come in pretty colours, the smell is just calling out your name and their quirky names of their products just gets you hook. Never once did I look into their face & hair care products but after much reading, I was excited to try them out. I mean, who would’ve want to pamper your face and hair with products that are handmade, 100% vegetarian, cool Naked packaging and fights against animal testing.

The Fresh Farmacy facial soap has a mild herby scent and it’s so nice and refreshing. After washing my face with it, I can feel that my face tightens a bit. And not only that, I happened to have a small acne on my cheek due to frequent usage of the face mask when I head out and I felt the redness and swelling from the acne subsided. It took about 2-3 more times of usage that my acne disappeared. So, that was a lifesaver!

When I saw the Argan Facial Oil, I was thrilled as I’ve read so much over the years about the benefits or Argan Oil and of course it wasn’t an ingredient in any of my current facial products that I have been using. And, it’s so easy to use as it comes in a bar form, all I needed to do was to sweep it over my skin and gently rub it in and I gave my face a slight massage. The smell of the shea butter was delicious! It didn’t make my skin oily at all but it felt moisturized. But of course, not forgetting the Full of Grace moisturizer that keeps my skin hydrated as it has tropical butters, chamomile and antioxidant mushroom extract. Waking up the next morning, I quickly rubbed my cheek and amazingly, it felt moisturized and soft! (you know how your skin usually is after sleeping in an air-conditioned room) So, I was amazed that I had to keep using to see if the effects were the same or it was just ME!

The Gritty Politti comes in a small round cute size. It is the perfect scrub that exfoliates your skin in the most natural way. The ground coconut shells and creamy kokum butter leaves your skin clear and gets rids of those black and white heads. Your skin becomes so soft and clear! And, at the same time the rosewood and sandalwood oils does wonders to your skin and gives you a nice scent too!

My first time using a shampoo bar and I must say, I was really impressed! Not only did it help with my psoriasis, it also made my hair more bouncy, shiny and like it had volume. Previously, I used to wash my hair everyday as the itch from the psoriasis made it unbearable. Then, I did find a shampoo brand that helped with this problem and there wasn’t a need to wash my hair daily. However, it did not leave my hair as shiny and bouncy as after I used the shampoo bar.  I thought lathering with a shampoo bar wasn’t easy but the foam and bubbles came out instantly. The shampoo bar is called Soak and Float Shampoo Bar – it came in LUSH’s round tin. And, I must say it’s a bit tricky to get the bar out of the tin. The shampoo bar consists of cade oil, rose oil, cedarwood absolute and marigold petals – the scent and texture of the bar is divine.

To ensure my hair is more manageable, using the hair conditioner and hot oil definitely did the trick. The solid conditioner can be used after each wash however the hot oil should be used weekly. As my hair is frizzy and wavy, these 2 products made my hair look healthier. The Jungle solid conditioner consists of tropical fruit, oils and cocoa butter. The LUSH Hot Oil Treatment was interesting to do – putting the stick into a mug filled with hot water, stirring the solid treatment until it liquefies and then waiting for it to cool down a little so that I can put it onto my hair. The Hair Doctor Hot Oil Treatment  is full of fuller’s earth, cooling peppermint oil and calming chamomile blue oil. Henna and lanolin give a glossy, shiny finish, while a trio of jojoba, almond and extra virgin coconut oils softens hair. I’ve been using it once a week for the past 2 weeks and it is something I would highly recommend to anyone and it’s not only cost saving, you can also do in the comfort of your home. LUSH, you have a fan in me, thank you so much for introducing me to all these products! And, if I can help save the animals and environment in one way or another, I am so IN!
